Golden Arrows have moved into the top eight following a 1-0 victory at home to Polokwane City on Saturday afternoon.
Mwape Musonda's first-half strike was enough to hand Arrows new coach Clinton Larsen his first win in charge of the side at the Chatsworth Stadium.
The home side endured a nervy start as Zikalala was called to make a double save in the 11th minute, as City enjoyed possession in the early stages.
Just one minute later Kudekwashi Mahachi had an opportunity at the other end but the attacker sent his header just wide of the mark.
In the 25th minute Musonda was on hand to bang home from five-yards out after the City defence failed to deal with Mahachi's cross, and the ball fell kindly for the Zambian striker.
On te half-hour mark, Rise and Shine had the ball in the back of the net through Mncwango, but the goal was ruled out due to an earlier offside.
Mfundo Phungwayo was withdrawn before the break after collecting a yellow card, with Tokelo Langa taking his place in the 42nd minute.
The second half was a tight affair as both teams looked to find their scoring touch, but were let down by wayward finishing.
Despite the second half changes, neither side were able to make use of their chances to change teh scoreline, as Arrows held on to the victory which takes them into sixth spot.
