2015/16 Absa Premiership: Chippa United vs Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs started their Absa Premiership title defence with a goalless draw against ten-man Chippa United in Port Elizabeth on Sunday afternoon.
Chiefs, who beat Maritzburg United 5-3 in the MTN8 in midweek, dominated the possession stakes and struck the crossbar through new captain Siphiwe Tshabalala.
However, Steve Komphela's men ultimately failed to make their numerical advantage count after Joseph Molangoane was sent off before the break after receiving a second booking for a foul on Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
Itumeleng Khune notably started ahead of Reyaad Pieterse in goal for Amakhosi, while Bafana Bafana defender Mulomowandau Mathoho also made his return from injury at the expense of Ugandan Ivan Bukenya.
Meanwhile, United mentor Roger Sikhakhane handed debuts to new signings Daylan Hawes and Mark Mayambela at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
In a match short of action, Molangoane beat Khune midway through the first stanza before seeing his effort ruled out for offside.
Tshabalala came agonisingly close in the 54th minute but his fierce drive was foiled by the woodwork as both sides had to be content with a point after 90 minutes.
