PSL Absa Premiership: AmaZulu vs Bidvest Wits

Posted: 10 March 2015 Time: 18:39

Bottom-club AmaZulu thumped Absa Premiership title hopefuls Bidvest Wits 3-1 at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday night.

Mbulelo Mabizela made up for recent errors and gave Usuthu the lead in the 20th minute and Goodman Dlamini finished an assist from Bongi Ntuli to make it 2-0 just before half-time.

In the second half Ntuli made it 3-0, rounding Moeneeb Josephs and putting Usuthu into cruise control. But Papy Faty pulled one back for Wits with a solid strike from range to set up a more interesting finale.

Nevertheless, Steve Barker's side held onto their two-goal cushion  to secure three points that take them to within three points of 15th-placed Moroka Swallows, who play fellow strugglers Free State Stars on Wednesday.

Wits' title chase is petering out as they remain 11 points bhiend leaders Kaizer Chiefs, but having played a game more. They drop to fourth after their second successive loss, while Orlando Pirates are now second after a 2-0 win over Chippa United.
