Premier Soccer League SuperSport United Polokwane City

SuperSport United were held to a 1-1 draw by Q2 winners Polokwane City in the Absa Premiership on Saturday evening.

Bradley Grobler opened the scoring for Matsatsantsa midway through the first stanza at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

However, substitute Rendani Ndou equalised in the 73rd minute soon after coming on to earn a share of the spoils for Rise and Shine.

City started well and took the game to Gordon Igesund’s team and when Maxwell Molala beat two SuperSport defenders the signs were there that the visitors meant business.

Then Dove Wome tested City’s goalkeeper Modiri Marumo but the effort was off target.

But SuperSport’s dominance quickly paid off when Grobler netted from close range to give the home side the lead.

Towards the end of the first half City tried their best to equalise but Ronwen Williams stood strong in goal.

In the second half, Zambian defender Joseph Musonda went in search of a goal but his effort was wide of the target.

Then City took off Puleng Tlolane for Ndou and within one minute of being on the field, Ndou had scored.

Ndou netted with his left foot after good work by Esau Kanyenda.

Jabu Maluleke had a chance for a late winner but he pulled his shot wide of the target.

Hardy boys, a point away from home is not a bad result but we should not be comfortable with it.

Let's Rise and Shine in the next game. We love the fighting spirit

Well done boys, a point away from home against a tough SSU is not bad, however we shouldn't be too comfortable with it. Let's try and win all games left in this December.

Thanks for the fighting spirit
