30' The Greeks almost did it again. Mitroglou's shoots, but Navas sprawls and the ball comes off his knee and is out.

29' Last corner of the game taken by Greece, but no goal.

28' Mitroglou ends off annother Greek attack with a kick that's far too high.

25' The Greeks dominating possession and pushing forward in numbers, but without doing so with any real speed. Both teams are looking tired.

22' CHANCE! A surging Greek counter attack comes to a halt when Navas blocks a shot hit straight at him by Lazaros.

21' Cubero somehow finds his way around three Greek defenders feeding a low cross to Cambell who can't get a shot on target, but Costa Rica have a corner.

19' Cambell wins Costa Rica a free kick. The resulting ball in see's Gonzales unsuccessfully attempting a bicycle kick.

17' Dangerous throughball to Gekas is intercepted by Navas. But the stopper stays down clutching his knee. He can't be subbed because Costa Rica have used all three of their subs. A stiff looking Navas is back on his feet.

15' Long ball to Brenes who shoots but can't keep the ball down.

14' Bernes makes a good run down the right before attempting to put in a low cross, which is cut out as Costa Rica show that even with 10 men anything is possible.

12' Both teams starting to look tired as we near the end of the first half of extra time. We're only 17 minutes from a penalty shootout.

09' Free kick to Greece. Greeks can't clear the ball Katsouranis' shot is deflected out for a corner. Nothing comes from the corner as Costa Rica hold out for now.

06’ When in possession Costa Rica either pass the ball around at the back, or send a long ball searching for Cambell. With ten men they don’t seem keen on pushing forward in numbers.

04' Mitroglou and Gekas make a hash of a fine cross into the area and neither of them can get a decisive touch on the ball.

03' Cambell is holding his knee in pain, but Costa Rica have no substitutions left

01' Torosidis whips in a dangerous cross that Navas is able to grab as Greece go searching for a winner

94' It gets worse for Costa Rica. Goalkeeper Navas has damaged his shoulder, but Costa Rica has used all their substitutions, so Navas will have to carry on playing as we go to extra time.

90' GOAL! Sokratis scores after the ball fell to him following Navas' initial save. The Greeks are back in it.

86' Lazaros finishes off a stong run with a low dangerous cross, but a diving and brilliant Navos catches the ball to keep Costa Rica in front.

85' Ruis earns Costa Rica a free kick and time wasting opportunity near the Greek corner flag. Nothing comes from the free kick, but the Greeks only have minutes to score.

82' Greek corner doesn't find anyone, Costa Rica's counter attack breaks down before Greece surge forward again.

81' Annother Greek free kick is played into the box, but the resulting header is wide.

79' Karagounis pulls off more of a goalkeeper clearance kick than an attempt at goal from the free kick as they search for a way back into the game.

78' Greek free kick in a dangerous position just to the left of goal and withing striking distance.

76' Costa Rica bring on defender Acosta for Gamboa as they look to park their ten man bus. Greeks also make a change, Maniatis comes off for Katsouranis.

74' Greece attacking with determination as a dangerous cross from the right is bundled out. Will ten man Costa Rica hold out?

72' Manolas picks up a yellow for Greece as he slides right through the dangerous Cambell

70' CHANCE! A Greek ball is chipped in to two awaiting players. Navas ge's to it but is not able to fist it properly clear. Luckily the ball falls to a Costa Rican player and their box is cleared.

66' RED CARD Duarte recieves a 2nd yellow and Costa Rica are down to 10 men.

65' Cubero a midfield enforcer comes on for Tejada

63' Annother tussle this time it's Salpingidis who commits the foul as the two teams look to assert themselves physically in this game.

60' Things are settling down a little bit. Greece are still looking to send long balls forward, but they will now be homing to see more results as Bolanos and Torosidis collide. The Greek stays on the ground for a while, but wins a free kick.

55' Yellow card for Granados who's on the Costa Rican bench after he said something to an official. Now Greece are making a substitution. Mitroglou on for Samaris.

54' It's all happening here! From the kick off Costa Rica surge forward from the restart and are unlucky not to get a penalty due to a hand ball by a Greek defender.

52' GOAL! Ruis scores for Costa Rica sending a well placed shot from just outside the box into the bottom right corner. Game on!

50' Greece have looked the more attacking off the two teams during the first five minutes of the second half.

48' Tejada makes a silly challenge and becomes the third player to pick up a yellow.

46' Greece start off the half by winning a free kick, near the sidelines but not far from the Greek box. Samaras' head connects solidly with Cholevas' cross in, but the shot is straight at Navas who has no trouble catching.

46' 2nd half is underway, neither team has made a change at half time.

45' A promising Greek attack comes to an end as his shot is deflected for a through in. There will be two minutes of stopage time.

43' The free kick is chipped in but Navas comes out to catch it.

42' Duarte picks up a yellow after bringing down Lazaros in a dangerous position.

39' Annother Greek attack ends in an offside. Costa Rica is not afraid to play the offside trap against a Greek team that is constantly searching for a goal creating long ball.

37' CHANCE! Salpingidis gets a foot to  the end of a good chance right in front of goal, but Navas somehow manages to deflect the goal bound shot out for a corner.

35 Samaris picks up a yellow for a clumbsy challenge on Cambell.

34' Cambell is brought down inside the box, but no foul.

33’ It’s still early but neither team is showing a great attacking emphasis and seem more concerned with not conceding a goal early on.

29' Greece starting to look more fluid in attack. They manage to fire off their first shot on target, albeit from range. The Greeks follow up that movement with annother dangerous attack that is halted by a Greek player being caught offside.

26' Despite a fairly chanceless game so far, the crowd is in good spirits. Another Greek long ball. This time it finds Lazaros but is shepherded wide of goal before his attempted cross is intercepted.

24' We have a Greek corner kick, after annother Greek long ball is headed away before it can become dangerous. Nothing comes from the corner, but the Costa Rica counter attack was one piercing pass away from really threatning the Greek goal.

23’ Karagounis receives a kick on the leg, but he is back up.

20’ Costa Rica take a corner short. Cambell takes the ball and runs towards the box, his brought down right on the edge and Costa Rica have a free kick.

19’ Unsuprisingly Cambell looks like the most dangerous man on the field at the moment the Greek charge down the left is finally brought to a halt by the Greek defence before he can fire a shot.

17' Both teams looking to assert themselves in the centre of the park, but neither is creating too many chances. Costa Rica currently edging posession with 58 percent.

14’ First corner of the game for Greece but nothing comes of it

13' Only four shots on goal so far this half, and none of them have been particularly threatning as both teams stilll look for an opening goal.

10’ Samaras receives a long ball as he starts his run into the final third a little bit too early and is caught off side. It won’t be the first searching long ball that the Greeks put in tonight.

7' CHANCE A smooth Costa Rican attack ends with Ruis playing in Bolanos. His shot is too high though.

4' Cagey start to the game. Gamboa makes a nice run, but his cross in unable to find a fellow Costa Rican as the ball goes out

1' Early free kick awarded to the Greeks, but poorly taken. Costa Rica fail to clear properly allowing a long range, but ultimately unsuccessful, shot at goal.

1' 'And we're off. Costa Rica in their whitestrip, while Greece are playing in blue.

The starting line ups have been announced:

Good riddance to a boring team. They were given a free penalty against Ivory Coast. Today they failed to beat 10 men of Costa Rica. I was happy when Gekas stepped up...I knew he was a biggest cow on the field.
