Borussia Dortmund’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has confirmed that nine-time Olympic sprint sensation Usain Bolt will attend training with the club.
Bolt – a Manchester United fan – has never hidden his love for football, and together with his personal sponsor Puma, who are also BVB’s sponsor, has been given the opportunity to train with the German top-tier side.
"We've decided this some time ago," Watzke told Sport Bild. "Puma CEO Bjorn Gulden, who is a member of our board, has told us that Usain is highly interested in practising with us. For us that's no problem. Our coach Thomas Tuchel likes the idea as well.
"Of course he won't visit us in an important week with Champions League matches, but maybe in the preseason. We are delighted and take this as an honour."
Watzke did not entertain any ideas of keeping Bolt at the club a little longer thogh – when asked if the runner could have a future in Dortmund, he replied, “We don’t even need to talk about it.”
Dortmund, who lie fifth in the Bundesliga standings, take on league leaders Bayern Munich in their next clash on Saturday evening.
