MTN8 pre-final music concert attracts big-name musos

Although the MTN8 final will be the main event, there are ample other reasons for members of the public to make their way to the Mbombela Stadium on 1 October.

The MTN8 final pre-match activities will attract some of the biggest names in the music industry including a ‘surprise’ performance by one of the country’s biggest selling musician.

A pre-concert mini-festival will get members of the public in the groove – while awaiting for the 17h00 kick-off of the Bidvest Wits vs Mamelodi Sundowns game.

Some of the names that will headline include yesteryear hits and some of the current songs making waves – like the legendary Trompies, Boom Shaka, Thebe, MiCasa, Cici, Dr Malinga, DJ Clock, Reason, Ismael, Nasty C and many others.

The concert will start at 15h00. Gates open at 14h00.

"The MTN8 knockout tournament is synonymous with fanfare, excitement and high levels of fan participation. This year the level of participation expected from our fans and the rewards that will accompany this competition at this epic final will be no different. MTN has organised a scintillating concert that will keep the fans entertained and set the scene for the Wafa-Wafa showdown later in the afternoon," said Larry Annetts, Chief Consumer Officer: MTN SA.

"We urge the football loving public to get their tickets early and come in numbers to enjoy the festivities that are synonyms with the MTN8 tournament and feast on the football spectacle that will be on offer later in the day.”
