Gabadinho Mhango finds Malawi youngster who bore his name on his shirt

Bidvest Wits forward Gabadinho Mhango recently made the day of one of his fans back home in Malawi, in what is truly an inspiring tale.

A picture picked up on social media showed a young football fan in an old T-shirt with the name ‘Gabadinho’ written on the back. The real Mhango made it his mission to find the young fan, who was eventually located, with the Malawian international returning home to meet the youngster, handing him his Wits club shirt and treating him to lunch.

The act of kindness resembles that of Barcelona star Lionel Messi who earlier this year sent a signed football shirt and ball to a young Afghan fan who has posted a photo on social media wearing a blue and white plastic bag depicting Messi’s name in a homemade Argentine strip.
