Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker is looking forward to staging his namesake tournament in Newlands, Durban on June 25.

The event will start at 09h00 at John Dory Sports Ground.

“I want to use football to bring people together and to enjoy as families,” Parker told his club's website

“We will draw people, young and old from the surrounding areas of Newlands including neighbouring townships like KwaMashu.

“We have planned six-a-side matches which will feature teams made out of the communities. Other activities include ball skills activities and fun and games will be part of it as well. Children will enjoy face painting and jumping castles in a play area.”

He added: “The event was a success last September in Reiger Park, and we thought we should take it to the next level. We don’t know where this will end up; hopefully we will reach out in other communities, God willing.”
