Kaizer Chiefs scored a deserved 3-0 victory over Ajax Cape Town at Newlands Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The goals were scored by Kaizer Motaung Jnr, Thabang Rooi and Nkosinathi Nhleko, as the visiting side enjoyed superiority throughout the match.

Nhleko had the first chance for Chiefs, but volleyed over the bar from only 10 yards out. Five minutes later Josta Dladla had a great chance to open the scoring, but was unable to keep his close range header on target after Nhleko’s cross.

Ajax managed to fashion a few half chances, but Diyo Sibisi and Dipsy Selolwane both failed to provide any real problems fro Chiefs keeper Arthur Bartman.

It took a moment of individual magic to break the deadlock, when Motaung Jnr scored with a superb volley after having picked up a loose ball just outside the box in the 28th minute.

Amakhosi doubled their advantage in the 43rd minute, when Rooi arrived at the near post to meet Dladla’s cross before hooking the ball over his head and into the far corner of the net.

Nhleko missed good opportunities to score, before the Cape side were handed a penalty in the 55th minute when Thomas Sweswe was ruled to have handled the ball in his own box.

But Sifiso Vilakazi was far too casual with the spot-kick and Bartmann made a comfortable save.

The Soweto side put the final nail in Ajax’s coffin when some slack defending resulted in Nhleko running through on goal before despatching the ball past Hans Vonk.

There was almost a fourth, but Letsholonyane’s shot across the goalmouth struck the upright.

I would like to urge amakhosikazi supporters not read so much into this victory aginst a tamed ajax side. We will surely humble them at the Super Stadium in no time. Enjoy it while it last. Shapa bashimanyana bastyle.

Well done to the coach and the boys, they made us proud, seemingly, things are looking up but we not there yet, this is the kind of ruthlessness we should be showing to all teams, especially small ones like Ajax CT, pity there's a break in between, just as we looking to maintain the momentum but our participation in Bloem should ensure the boys do not lose their rhythm, once again, well done!!

Remember football-lovers that we scored 3 times against them, we scored 3times against Wits, & 2day we also scored 3times. League is a Marathon nt a knockout. You hev a chance 2 recover, bt you tend blind 2 realise that. Stop Chiefs now or else.

Netsurfer: 2009-10-04 18:15

Chiefs will win the league. We have the best team in the league. Nhleko should play 4 Barcelona, he is classy.

Last week I said that football is a funny game.A after Chips beat the hapless Cosmos I said Pierats fans couldn't wait to see Chips lose to Ajaz so that they could come here and rub it in.

Tzozo: 2009-10-04 18:35

But I warned that footbal is a funny game and I've been prove right. So Pierats fans will have to wait a bit longer.

Tzozo: 2009-10-04 18:36

And if truth be told Chips should have been on a 3rd straight win considering hiow they outplayed Celtics and stil;l lost the match.

Tzozo: 2009-10-04 18:39

I have no doubt that since Pierats fans have no ambitions of their own (they have'nt won anything for years) their joy comes from seeing Chips losing and when that doesn't happen it is just gloom for the long suffering so-called happy people.

I do not regard this win as revenge, to be honest, rather than a "point of correction". Remember, the performance today was the exact carbon copy of the MTN8 second leg match. The only difference was the absence of the inexperience metsimstsi at the goalposts. We scored 3 clean goals in 2 consecutive matches against them. I must also admit that i am concerned by the fact that they are always awarded a penalty against us, whether legitimate or dubious. We have proved our point today, period. Keep it up guys!!!

As Mataung Jnr steps into the field Ertugral pokes him “Hey Model, what are you doing here, aren’t you suppose to be doing a photo shoot for a magazine or something?” Jnr ignores him. 29 minutes into the game Jnr scores a superb goal and goes to celebrate in Ertugral’s coaching box and say to him “Hey camera-man, I am here for a shoot, is your camera working?” Ertugral smiles and respond “You must ask that Donkey Mabuti Khanyesa, he was behaving like you when we played Sundowns but in the end I was the last man laughing”

“Oops, you are forgetting something, you are playing Chiefs and not Sundowns you idiot” responded Jnr and indeed Rooi and Nhleko scored to give Chiefs a well deserved 3-0 victory. Ertugral went home crying "This boys are back now, nxx"

Thanks Kgopas for congratulating us & yes weather they give us the title or not, is just out of question, just concentrate on the current results.. the guys have been playing well all along, I guess luck was just not on their side...

As for Ajax is unfortunate Peter Mabuza was not the man in the middle...

Conratulations to all the winners of these weekend, especially Chiefs & Sundowns, is good to see our next competitor being sundowns playing the way they did & scoring goals, unlike the 1nill wonders from Orlando, it looks like their luck is running out, I just wish they can loose their first game on the 31st of October...

Once again congratulations guys, u made us proud...

“Oops, you are forgetting something, you are playing Chiefs not Sundowns you idiot” responded Jnr and indeed Rooi and Nhleko scored to give Chiefs a well deserved 3-0 victory. Ertugral went home crying "These boys are back now, nxx"

I liked the CTR360 Maestri Nike boot Siphiwe Tshabalala was wearing.

Tzozo: 2009-10-05 08:00

Sorry to say this. THat Nkosinathi Nhleko is not a striker. The guy misses chances that any half decent striker should put away with ease. maybe it is the problem with mzansi football as a whole. I watched ****nal strikers Theo Walcott and Bendter scoring goals that should never have been. Really our football is still decades behind.

Ajax was not in the game at all. You could see that they have desperately missed Thulane Serero and Doutjie but, that is not an excuse as they should have defended much better than what they did. As for Amakozikazi they should not be over the moon.

I was pissed off by Mojalefa (Kaizer Junior). The boy is ill discipline and should have been given the matching orders. Why should he insult the opposition coach? If he was playing in the FA, the boy would have been given serious punishment for his amateur behavior. May be that’s what his brother (Bobby) taught him as he is also calling other people stupid.

Ppl say it was revenge. I say it was a "point of correction". We did the same in the MTN8 second leg match. The only difference on that day was the inexperienced Metsimetsi. However, I must mentioned that it is disheartening to realise that, in the 3 games we've played with ajax so far, they have been awarded 4 penalties either legitimately or dubiously. You be the judge. Some ppl here watch football in shebeens/taverns where there is a lot of noise, such that they don't listen to commentry. This leads the misinformed comments they post in this forum. For instance, someone is talking about Kaizer Jnr talking to fans after scoring the goal, whereas he was talking to Muhsin. However, I felt it was wrong for him to do that. The way for him to talk is to continue the good form he is showing and score more goals. On the lighter note, "grazie infinite" to the players and technical staff for the good showing. We made an excellent presentation yesterday.

Phumelele, plz Boss don’t insult people. If they watch soccer ko di Shebeens, its their preference.

If they post misinformed comments, its strange that u have the guts of reading them.

Chiefs is one predictable team, they are going to lose against Sundowns and lose next against Pirates and They start their song again, and it goes as follows

Bobby must be fired …………....
Players are not chiefs material ……….
The coach is inexperienced …………
Kaizer jnr is a model ………………
Why by cheap players from Zimbambwe
Fans are coaches and they bring their problems to the game……
Teko is not a good player compared to Pienaar

mandla: 2009-10-05 10:57

Exactly my point Phumelele on the Jnr issue he must continue doing well.I've been saying all along that we are playing well we just lack a bit of luck and finaly yesterday lady luck smiled on us.Bartman looks gr8.Yho and i've never seen Mushin shunned this way.Khosi all the way.Smax

The Game: 2009-10-05 10:58

Comeon,,,Ajax were missing more than 9 regulars...they are patiently waiting for the MTN 8 final,,,,yesterday's game was actually not an important game for them; for Chiefs they had everything to win: on the 17th,,,it's Mamelodi Sundowns who these days are playing the best and entertaining football Vs Chiefs who honestly speaking play kak football (thanks to their clueless fans who go to the stadium to make noise),,,quality and quantity will be separated on their next encounter !!!

For your short memory sake, the same palyers that Chiefs demolished 3-0, are the same players that beat Sundowns and Platinum Stars.. Please don't come to this forum with your jealous Pirate comments about things that unfounded and hogwash nonsense.
