Thanda Royal Zulu FC went down 1-0 against a polished Supersport United side in an ABSA Premiership match at the ABSA Stadium on Saturday.
Daine Klate’s goal in the 37th minute separated the sides.
An unmarked Klate had a great header saved by Aime Kitenge in the 36th minute, and then scored a short time later, after a terrible blunder by the Thanda keeper.
Thanda had a chance to equalise in the 50 minute when a pass from Bernard Parker found Bongani Mbhele, but his header flew wide.
Serge Djiehoua drilled a curling shot at goal in the 51st minute, but the attempt was pushed away by the keeper.
Thanda played Djiehoua as a lone striker, and were a committed team, but they were playing a team who had clearly done their homework. Klate played exceptionally well, creating many chances.
Scara Ngobese came on in the 57th minute, and created some play, although his fitness still looks questionable at this stage.
