Nigeria international striker Obafemi Martins may be on the verge of a move to Spain.
Reports in the Spanish media have linked Martins with a move to La Liga side Levante.
The Spanish club are keen to bolster their attacking options having lost the services of Arouna Kone their top scorer for last to Wigan.
Manager of the club Ignacio Martinez is keen to land the Nigerian striker on loan, but his Russian club Rubin Kazan are only interested in selling Martins outright.
Martins has endured a frustrating spell at Kazan having been plagued by injuries and several off field problems.
The striker was recently demoted to the reserve team after a clash with a teammate, and prior to that he was hardly ever guaranteed of a place in the starting line up despite his pre season form which saw him score 8 goals in 13 games, as well as creating the assist for the goal that helped his club win the Russian Super Cup.
Martins was recently linked with a move to EPL side West Bromwich Albion, as well as a host of clubs in China and Italy.
Levante are believed to be willing to take Martins on a season long loan, with an option to purchase at the end of the season.
