Fulham's Zamora signs new contract

England striker Bobby Zamora signed a new four-year contract with Premier League club Fulham on Friday.

The 29-year-old would have been out of contract at the end of the season but the Cottagers have moved to head off interest from several top teams by securing the future of their leading forward.

The former Tottenham and West Ham player has been in fine form for the last 12 months and scored 19 goals in all competitions last season.

He helped Fulham enjoy a fairytale run to the Europa League final, as well as making his England debut in a friendly against Hungary in August.

"Fulham can confirm that Bobby Zamora has signed a new four year deal with the club that will see the striker remain at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2014," a statement on Fulham's website confirmed.
