Bafana Bafana Mali friendly ahead of Africa Cup of Nations

South Africa beat Mali 3-0 in their final warm-up game before their Africa Cup of Nations opener against Algeria on Monday.

FULL-TIME: Mali 0-3 (Hlatshwayo 37', Vilakazi 82', Furman 85') SA.

94' - Phala nearly makes it 4-0 after bursting through the centre but he shoots straight at S. Diakite.

90' - Bafana still pressing for more goals in the closing stages.

85' - BAFANA GOAL! Furman makes it 3-0 on the rebound after his first attempt was saved! Moments earlier Vilakazi's chip came back off the crossbar.

82' - BAFANA GOAL! Vilakazi calms slots in a second after going round the keeper!

80'- Ten minutes to go and Bafana are still ahead thanks to Hlatshwayo's first-half header.

75' - Mabokgwane gets across to collect a downward header by Traore following a cross from the left.

73' - Hlatshwayo's long-range free-kick deflects off the wall for a corner, which Mali clear.

72' - Mali sub: Diaby on for M. Yatabare.

71' - Bafana double sub: Manyisa replaces Masango, Gcaba replaces Nhlapo.

68' - Traore wastes a glorious chance as he misses the target from close range following a cross from the right!

66' - Mali sub: Diaye replaces Doumbia.

65' - M. Yatabaré's far post header is denied by the woodwork and Bafana clear!

63' - Ndulula has a shot cleared off the line by Konate!

61' - Mabokgwane is untroubled as he collects a weak shot in the area.

57' - Keita drills an effort over from well outside the box.

56' - Mali sub: Traore replaces Sako.

53' - Ndulula battles gamely for possession in the box but he is adjudged to have fouled his marker.

52' - M. Yatabaré hooks a first-time volley off a cross narrowly over. Mabokgwane had it covered though.

49' - Ndulula is caught offside, and he knew it even before the whistle went.

46' - We are back underway.

HALF-TIME: Mali 0-1 (Hlatshwayo 37') South Africa.

43' - Mali hovering around the Bafana box but they are battling to find a way through.

37' - BAFANA GOAL! Hlatshwayo nods in a curling free-kick from the left by Masango following a foul on Ndulula. That's 'Tyson''s first international goal.

33' - Doumbia nearly breaks the deadlock as his low, curling strike goes just wide of the upright!

32' - Mabokgwane drops down nicely to gather an awkward, bouncing effort from range by Doumbia.

27' - Furman finds no love with a hopeful ball over the top.

23' - Jali receives medical attention after taking a knock to the back. He's soon back on his feet.

22' - Sylla thunders an ambitious effort over. He really got hold of that.

18' - Overlapping fullback Matlaba finds space down the left but he is unable to locate a teammate in the box.

15' - Bafana starting to get a few more touches on the ball in midfield, there's not much space out there at the moment.

13' - SuperSport United winger Phala drags a weak shot across the face of goal.

12' - Mali applying good pressure on the Bafana defence as Mabokgwane is forced into a rushed clearance.

10' - Masango clatters into Sylla with a wild challenge. The Kaizer Chiefs attacker escapes a caution.

8' - Bafana keeper Mabokgwane gathers a floated ball into the box at the second attempt. That wouldn't have done the confidence any favours.

5' - Goalkeeper S. Diakite comfortably scoops up a dipping free-kick from Masango.

3' - Roma's Keita collects the ball from deep in midfield, with a number of Bafana players keeping an eye on his movements.

1' - We are underway between Bafana and Mali in their Afcon warm-up game, with referee Yves Roponat in charge of proceedings.

The match kicked off at 16h00 (SA time).

Bafana Bafana coach Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba has made six team changes since the 1-1 draw with Cameroon on the weekend.

In comes goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane, Siyabonga Nhlapo, Mandla Masango, Thuso Phala, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Bongani Ndulula.

Brilliant Khuzwayo, Themba Zwane, Oupa Manyisa and Bernard Parker drop to the bench, while Rivaldo Coetzee and Tokelo Rantie miss out through injury.

Oostende man Andile Jali will captain the side, taking over the responsibility from central midfield partner Dean Furman.
