Zambian midfielder Mukuka Mulenga could finally don Mamelodi Sundowns kit next year, after undergoing a successful ankle operation.
Mulenga went under the knife last month to fix ligaments just above his ankle, but is only likely to be back in full training sometime in February, leaving him with just three months to show the Sundowns faithful why he was signed.
KickOff.com has been told that the 20-year-old – voted the best player in Zambia last year – has been advised to be patient with his injury despite his desire to get to showcase the talent that brought him to the club.
“Mukuka will only start jogging on the field early next year and should only be at full training and fighting for his place in the team a few months into the new year,” a source reveals.
“There is absolutely no doubt that he is quality, which is why he has been advised to be patient.”
Sundowns have in the meantime cast their eyes over several other attacking central midfielders, among them Robert Ng’ambi and George Maluleka.
