Asamoah Gyan says he will use his recent failure from the penalty spot as inspiration for the future and is adamant he can help Ghana win the Nations Cup.
Gyan missed from the penalty spot in the semifinal defeat against Zambia before the Black Stars went on to lose courtesy a brilliant Emmanuel Mayuka strike.
Gyan has since been heavily criticised in Ghana and elected to fly directly as the rest of the squad arrived on Sunday.
He instead went over to club based Abu Dhabi and told Al Ain's official website he will bounce back from latest setback.
“For me losing this penalty kicks increase my will and determination to change the image of some people’s view about the player who missed a penalty kick, so I show my best and follow my ambitions and aspirations,” he said.
Gyan says taking penalty kicks is much more difficult than most people think and claims “it is a matter of luck mostly”.
