Orlando Pirates new signing Sifiso Myeni: Happy Jele is helping me

Myeni: Happy Jele is helping me

Posted: 2012-02-07 19:30

New Orlando Pirates signing Sifiso Myeni says his road to recovery from injury is being aided by Happy Jele, another injured Bucs player.

Myeni, who signed for Pirates recently, broke his shin after a tackle by Platinum Stars midfielder Joseph Molangoane in a League match on December 21, and is expected to make a return in March.

As for Jele, 'Magents' damaged his anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments, and tore the meniscus in his knee against Bidvest Wits on November 19, and faces a lengthier spell on the sidelines, estimated at between six and nine months.

However, Jele, according to Myeni, has gone out of his way to help Bucs' new signing with his recovery.

"Happy is the guy who has been pushing me at training. He has welcomed me well … as much as he focuses on his own injury, he has also been helping me a lot. He pushes so hard and that encourages me as well," Myeni tells KickOff.com.

Myeni recalls his duels with Jele vividly and admits he is happy to play with Jele, not against him.

"We are both happy that we will be playing together. He likes to attack and I like to attack, so for me it will be the same as playing with my old mate Patrick Phungwayo," he says.

"I used to like playing against Happy, because we used to have some sort of competition. I remember when I would go past him; he used to count the score between me and him. So if I went past him it will be 1-0 to me and when he got the better of me it would be 1-1.

"So say Pirates beat Wits in the end, he would come to me at the end of the match and say his team won but at least I won our battles," Myeni chuckles at the memory.

Good news for Miyemi The new sensation and Happy magents "umsindisi wami".

I am so happy The new sensation Miyeni is positive and enjoys his stay at Pirates. One thing we can assure the young man is the Nedbank cup, Psl champioship and CAF championship.

Kick Off please get an interview with Manqana, we need progress on this boy, he is trouble, where his name is concern, there is kak.

brazilitto : 2012-02-08 08:53

@king .. Bhakhaniya our relationship is growing strong. Lack of pray(zebra) and competition. We got to keep the spirit high. Chivs situation is too sensitive. So I am suggesting we live them for now or let not talk abt anything that involve money and signing of quality players for the next 5 months or so.

One thing i am certain about is that, this is the beginning of new things for SA football.

Khoza has an agenda and he is going to prove a point again but in the best interest on the country.

Sweyts : 2012-02-08 09:18

King, our cordial relationship with Pirates went with the totally unexpected trebble I agree.

You won and told everybody who cares to listen to fok-off! (allies included ).

To top it all you started behaving like Chimps and claimed to be the mightiest with most jewellery and all hell broke loose........but we still prefer Bucs over Chivs anyday, in the Champs League you have our undivided support, in the Psl f'tsek. lol.

brazilitto : 2012-02-08 09:31

Dear Mr Myeni, as yellow as I am, I was disappointed by your statement last year where you accused Downs for destroying careers . Well I want you to take a gud look the following players who were bench warmers at their previous club b4 they join Nation Yellow.

1) Wayne Sandilands. 2) teko modise 3) lebo cheezos 4) siyanda xulu after chivs had not given him a first team contracts which they had promised him. But since u re a hobbo no 1 fan, I forgive you.

@sweyts .. Champs lig we will supports them and give advise since we got more experience than any other psl team.

Mgugudi: The Treble Addict: 2012-02-08 09:43

@ King,

I am not sure champ but I think it because playing in our continent requires (very) hard work, stamina, ability to adapt to conditions on & off the field, versatility on the field which involve lot of defending & more importantly to grind & grit for the results. Methinks that the technical team felt that Mayambela lacks in some of the aspects I have mentioned obviosly due to lack of exposure at international level.

MZIMBA: 2012-02-08 09:44

"I used to like playing against Happy, because we used to have some sort of competition. I remember when I would go past him; he used to count the score between me and him. So if I went past him it will be 1-0 to me and when he got the better of me it would be 1-1.

"So say Pirates beat Wits in the end, he would come to me at the end of the match and say his team won but at least I won our battles," Myeni chuckles at the memory.

We have to remove the frontline teeth so that you may fit well in the group of the most handsome bunch of players.you are handsome problem is your frontline.

KING?: 2012-02-08 10:14

Sweyts: u know we dont roll like that, after we had reduced you to nothing in the MTN8 where ACE Manyisa made Sakaland look like a 12 years old goalkeeper, you guys started young karate moves and even on Kick off is was the same Karate move, what where Bucs supporters suppose to do when you kick them.

We thank your support, Only if we could utilize the services of the General Navigator in AFRICA. I miss this player at Pirates.

Bra Aubs: 2012-02-08 10:22

@ King
Mayambela is a good player, but at this moment his confidence is low and lacks match fitness, and we all know what a good player he is!!!
There is a league as well as the Nedbank Cup, he will have to use those games to gain his confidence back.

Remember there hell of a lot of goos players who will be fighting for that spot too, Boa Morte, Ntshumayelo, Myeni, Jele, Manqana, Matlaba... this list is endless, whoever gets a chance to play will have to impress.

This also puts pressure on the players selected as they will be required to work hard and make sure that the team wins.

KING?: 2012-02-08 10:32

Bra Aubs: Undisputed Champ Mgugudi: lets not be misled by the excitement and the changes of Philosopher Leal.

Mayambela is a versatile player who can change the tempo of the game and can single handedly impact on any game. He can play central, left and right, you can apply him as a 2nd striker as well.

Look at the players selected and tell which amongst them can inject pace n change when needed. All of them are starters with Sox as an exception. This squad lack pace and creativity. U cant leave such a player behind, he intimidates defenders and Leal has not utilised him accordingly, same with Drogba.

Mgugudi: The Treble Addict: 2012-02-08 10:43

@ King,

I agree with you 100% but do you realy think Mayambela can play in those bumpy pitches that our teams are subjagated to by our African brothers? If we were playing the teams from Egypt, Morroco or Tunisia in the earlier rounds, I would have been puzzled by his exclusion.

There is still a chance for his inclusion in the group stages, it beggings with him working hard trying to command a regular place in our team & not taking boo boys to heart because Africa is definately not for the weak hearted. Look at the 1995 team & tell me who was mentally weak in that group. Would Mayambela performed against Mimosa when the whole stadium was yellow & every touch by our players was booed?

It all boils down to mental fitness which not only Mayambela lacks but a lot of SAn players do.

Mgugudi: The Treble Addict: 2012-02-08 10:45

Corr

Would Mayambela perform...

Undisputed Double-Trebble Champ Mopheme: 2012-02-08 14:57

I'm also surprised by the exclusion of Mayambela to the Afcon squad. It's true 25 players were registered with Sameeg Doutie and Clifford Ngobeni(who have both left the team) completing the list, but still I can't find the logic behind that decision..!!!
