Stevanovic backs Annan in difficult time

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has backed Anthony Annan to come good in the quarter-final meeting against Tunisia.

The Ghana midfielder lost his mother on Thursday but has opted to stay with the Black Stars till their competition is over.

And Stevanovic has no qualms about playing him insisting Annan would be in perfect shape for the game.

"It is a really difficult moment for him. But all have supported him a lot. And that can be big motivation for him to play better, to play more for his [departed] mother and to fight," the Ghana coach said.

“I am sure that she loved that he [Annan] played for the national team."

Ghana players will wear black arm bands as a sign of respect to the player's mother.

Yes, annan knows that he has lost his mother, but who tells you that he will not take part in her mother's funeral later on? In life, it is always to appropriate to take certain hard decisions to help us move forward. The mother is dead, he can bring her back to life again, he is still a living soul and he has to be rational in taking decisions for his forward march. Meanwhile, annan shall surely honour his mother's memory when he returns to Ghana. Bravo, annan.
