First Division round-up: University of Pretoria hold onto their lead at the top of the table going into the Christmas break.
A goal from Chibuzor Nwogbo was enough to seal victory for AmaTuks over a 10-man African Warriors at the weekend.
Sibusiso Mokoena was red carded in the 52nd minute of the game, a costly mistake for Warriors as they lost 1-0.
AmaTuks are now two points clear at the top of the First Division table, with Warriors 7th after this defeat.
A 64th minute equaliser helped Thanda Royal Zulu get a point away to Mpumalanga Black Aces. Aces took the lead with a first-half goal from Mokete Tsotetsi, but Thanda captain Asanda Mvaso got his team a point to keep in touch with log leaders.
A 10-man Blackburn Rovers lost ground in the promotion race when they went down 2-0 to United FC. United's goals came from Rodney Smith and David Radebe.
Sivutsa Stars beat Chippa United 3-1 at home at the weekend which sees Stars to 11th on the log.
And Vasco da Gama scored three goals against Dynamos' one to keep the Cape Town side in the hunt.
FC AK and Witbank Spurs played to a goalless draw, but this still leaves Spurs at the bottom of the log.
Altie FC got an important victory away from home against FC Cape Town, winning 3-2 in the five-goal thriller.
Things are not getting any better for Bay United after they lost to Carara Kicks 2-1 away from home. Bay are now just four spots away from bottom.
