Hopes for Flames v Bafana warm-up bleak

Posted: 2011-09-16 12:34

While Safa has yet to reply, Malawi's hopes of getting a warm-up match against Bafana Bafana in the next two weeks appears highly unlikely to materialise.

Football Association of Malawi is working on a possibility of the Flames playing a strength testing match against Bafana as part of their team's preparations for their October 8 Africa Cup of Nations must-win match in Chad.

It has been proposed that the friendly game should be played in South Africa on September 28 but they are still awaiting Safa's response to their request.

However, the Premier League has a full programme of Premiership matches scheduled for that midweek, which also means that coach Pitso Mosimane will have difficulty in organising strong opponents for his squad when they go into camp ahead of their final Afcon qualifier against Sierra Leone which is also set for October 8.

play them and test the untested players. we do not want pitso saying he has never seen some players play. we have to try combinations in this match it wont be much but atleast we will see how other players do new ones. we have nothing to lose

I THINK THE PSL TEAMS MUST DO SOMETHING TO HELP BAFANA BAFANA TO GET THE THREE POINTS.MAYBE TO HAVE A BREAK OF ONE WEEK IN ORDER FOR THE BAFANA TO PREPARE WELL(CAMP).IT WILL BE THE LAST CHANCE TO SEE OUR PLAYERS PLAYING IN THE AFCON AND WE NEED TO QAUALIFY JUST BECAUSE THE SA FOOTBALL IMPROVE AND THE YOUNGSTERS LIKE JALI,MANYISA MIGHT ATTRACT EUROPEAN CONTRACTS DUE TO THEIR PARTICIPATION AND DOING WELL IN THE AFCON.
