While Safa has yet to reply, Malawi's hopes of getting a warm-up match against Bafana Bafana in the next two weeks appears highly unlikely to materialise.
Football Association of Malawi is working on a possibility of the Flames playing a strength testing match against Bafana as part of their team's preparations for their October 8 Africa Cup of Nations must-win match in Chad.
It has been proposed that the friendly game should be played in South Africa on September 28 but they are still awaiting Safa's response to their request.
However, the Premier League has a full programme of Premiership matches scheduled for that midweek, which also means that coach Pitso Mosimane will have difficulty in organising strong opponents for his squad when they go into camp ahead of their final Afcon qualifier against Sierra Leone which is also set for October 8.
