Odemwingie makes CAF XI

Posted: 2010-02-01 07:04

Where is Did Drogba? He was clearly on a holiday in Bungeala, Angola. Hehehehe. Zidane is a good player. Alex Song has played in almost each and every game for ****nal this year, he is going to be great.

There are no Legislatures to pass bill on players selected, no elections and i don't care if Amodu allowed players forced on him, he is the Manager and Coach of the Super Eagles, that some players performed below expections, that Lulu or others forced players on him is entirely his fault, he could have chosen the path of honour and resigned when players were forced on him or selected match fit players instead players like Olofijana, Yakubu, Mohammed and Kanu with sentiments of forced on him. Amodu must go or as i heard a Technical adviser be placed above him to select players without bias. If ask me Siasia will do a good job and can carry on for continuity sake like the the Egyptian coach has done, let us look beyond the 2010 WC and allow Siasia build a team irrespective of how he may perform in South Africa, there's no doubt he is good and he's got the backing of the new Eagles. Amodu should go, he has played his part, he can't give what he does not have- it's simple, let him Go. Give Siasia a chance.

What else do guys expect from caf that does even care for the dead? How much more the living players? He should have added the full Camerounian squad as best.Issa,ur days are numbered.

These members of commitee that selected these players are very wrong. For the fact that you were chosen by Issa Hayattou doesn't mean that you people are correct, there are ordinary people who can do better than you even that goat called Hayattou.Where did you place Mikel and ****tu? ****tus' defence didn't concede any goal from the time he was introduced except the mistake caused by Nwaneri against Ghana. How many did Bougherra concede? It should have been ****tu and Gomaa 'cos ****tu is current Africa' best defender. What did Alex Song do to deserve a place there when he was eliminated in the quarter finals?,even Andre Ayew who doesn't deserve anything. Mikel is far better than these 2 guys.Vincent Enyeama is supposed to be there in place of that Ghana keeper.infact you people are just mad and biased, you don't know what you're talking about.

ik: 2010-02-01 13:48

@Soccer_Pro How could you imagine that Mikel is worth Alex Song??? Do try and understand football!! Remove sentiment and get it right that Mikel be compared to Alex Song either in national duty or at club level.

vinny: 2010-02-01 14:04

me think that the rational for selecting players for the best 11 is faulty.the tournament highest goal scorer [gedo]is not even in the best 11.atleast enyeama who kept 4 clean sheet same with egypt goalie and help his country pass the 1/4 final should have been in the team or in place of ghana's kingson.****tu should also be there instead of the algerian.his introduction in the nigerian team brought stability to their defense line.they conceeded 1 goal in 5games.zambia kabala deserves a place in the team instead of angolan flavio who scored 2goals in the opening game and that was all about him.caf please come out with something good.this is not good enough.

Frank: 2010-02-01 15:01

Nigeria performed better than Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Algeria, etc. Let's agree that even though the style of play may not have endeared the Eagles to the fans it wasn't all gloom and doom.

Original

mbanzai: 2010-02-01 15:29

@Frank (original), but you earlier said that if Nigeria did not get to the final, then Amodu should go. Has that now changed, or you don't remember saying that?

Kryx: 2010-02-01 15:33

There are 2 or more super eagle's player that should be listed in Somilia's XI players like Obinna Nweneri and Yakubu Ayebgeni.

yes that is where they belong, let them stop hindering the progress of Super Eagles.

Kryx: 2010-02-01 15:37

Please can anyone tell me what is happening with Adeleye, whom I fondly call Nwisii,I mean the Olumpic 2008 sqaud best defender

Frank: 2010-02-01 15:49

@Mbanzai, I never said if the Eagles don't get to the finals Amodu should go! I said if they don't perform well then I'll hv no qualms if he's asked to go!

SHAME TO YOU!

sly1: 2010-02-01 16:04

READ THIS:
This just hit me like a ton of bricks. I NOW KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIAN SET UP IS: THE FANS. Yeah, we the fans. We have set our standard so low. That is why we are still debating whether Amodu should go or not.

In a truly organized society, a full fledged investigation would go into why our sports is failing and a decision will be made to rectify the problem. In this current debacle we find ourselves, the ROOT OF OUR PROBLEM IS THE NFF.

If the majourity of the fans continue to ask for Amodu to be fired we will only be trying to kill the snake by cutting the tail. WE SHOULD DO ALL WE CAN TO GET THE PRESIDENCY TO GET RID OF THIS NFF BOARD (everybody in there including the messengers). This should happen now no matter the cost. Even if FIFA bans us, Egypt will be glad to take our place and I am sure they will do Africa proud.

The continuous call to sack Amodu will not solve our problem because the people who hired Amodu were the ones who hired Berti Vogts, the failure. Since 2007, our failures in continental and FIFA World tournaments have always been related to poor coaching. If these men cannot give the national team coaching jobs to the best coaches because of corruption, we should not trust them to hire anymore. NFF will only hire a coach they can share money with and control. With this level of interference, no Grade A coach will agree to work in Nigeria. They will waste our time and money flying all over Europe and end up with the coach of Zambia- a third class coach who can't get a job in his own country.

When we unite to call for the NFF to be deposed, they will FIRE AMODU SO FAST HIS HEAD WILL SPIN. In Nigeria there is no loyalty. It is because we the fans have been so wishy washy, that is the reason Lulu can tell us he 'will sink or swim with Amodu'. When he sees his own sack letter, he will be ready to shoot AMODU, CHIKENA!!!
Lets stand up and mobilize

@Dafe, Your very very stupid by mentioning mikel name in this Caf XI, You can say that ****tu is the best nigerian player because he did very good but please you have to be ashamed of yourself by including mikel.

Mikel is an a s s h o l e. He should be drop from coming close to our national team, If i have a very good manager like him he will never ever see my shadows in the field of play.

I like him so much but he disgraced me so much, my friends that are man u fans were laughing at me. He is a sick footballer, Not even one killer pass Mikel in the whole competition and he call himself a midefielder, my a s s

Ronaldo87: 2010-02-01 16:48

To be honest I have never been an Amodu fan and the only place I disagree with him is his selection of players. He selects out of sentiment and name ans not performance.
Not withstanding, I'll say he stays till th WC and then Siasia and Oliseh take over from there till 2014.
Cameroon, Ivory coast all came with World Class coaches and they were all out before Naija. Let Amodu finish the Job. For Now I will propose the following changes.

IN:
Ike Uche
Lukman Aruna
Rabiu Ibrahim
Nedum Onouha(If he accepts)
Victor Moses(If he accepts)
Chris Obodo(If fit)
Adeleye
Eneramo
Ike ThankGod
Chibuozo Okonkwo
Obiora N****wo

OUT:
Nwaneri
Mohamed
Yakubu(If not fit)
Nsofor(Not Matured)
Olofinjana
Mikel(To be listed only as defensive midfielder)

elzo: 2010-02-01 16:51

List compiled by a parliament of fools headed by the chief fool himself, Issa Hayatou! Where is Danny ****tu, where is Reinford Kabala of Zambia, where is Kaita from Ivory Coast? As for Hayatou, his days are numbered. After disrespecting the dead by banning Togo, only the worst awaits him as he looks forward to running for his position in the years to come.

oscar : 2010-02-01 17:07

Without doubts and without any sentiment, Mikel deserves to be in the team. You cannot compare Mikel to Song based on matches played. Mikel was outstanding and even over-used as his presence was valuable in the Nigerian team. If our attackers utilized the chances Mikel created in the semi-final, I am sure CAF would have picked Mikel.

By this statement, I am not saying Alex Song was not good, but based on the Nations Cup matches played, Mikel outshone him.

Tony I want to take my time and tear down your arguements, one after the other

1. Amodu is slow, way too conservative and full of bad judgements to be considered a World Cup football manager. He shouuld be FIRED IMMEDIATELY. What about 2002! He was fired for playing very uninspiring soccer (even with Okocha and Oliseh)and losing control of team disciplene. Fast forward to 2010, his team played worse and we heard of clashes with players including Kanu (the reason he refused to play the legend for most of the tournament). He has no respect left, even the always quiet Osaze criticized him in the media. Yes he has been criticized a lot because of his decisions and incompetence; but if he can't stand it, he should simply resign. As for meeting his mandate, the semi final target was set too low because of his incompetency. All coaches before him were asked to win the cup because Nigerians are tired of Bronze. As for the world cup ticket, we all know how we barely scraped through. Governor Fashola is entitled to his own opinion. But, I DO NOT support the hiring of any foreign coach either, not even Mourinho. Siasia should be given the job without NFF interference and a 4 year contract!!!

2.The problem of the Eagles is an NFF that continues to interfere in the coaches duties and a daft coach. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT THE PLAYERS. Players don't pick themseves the coach does. The lack of commitment Amodu's players show is because he has lost respect and they know he is too lazy to look for replacements. The right coach will only pick players who are loyal to him and the flag hence the " I am willing to die on the field" attitude. Before Beijing 2008, Solomon Okoronkwo and Obinna Nsofor claimed they were willing to play for free just to win a Gold medal for their COACH and Country! This is the character Siasia demands in his teams. They never lack COMMITMENT. I will agree with you that it was not Amodu's fault Osaze and Martins could not score just as Siasia took the blame for the profligacy of his strikers in Egypt. But it was Amodu who chose to include several unfit players in his squad. He chose an unfit Martins and dropped Enaromo. He selected a team of 24 from 32 without even one training session. He INITIALLY dropped OBASI! Is that bad judgement or what?

3. Again I agree with you that Eagles need a creative midfielder amongst other things. Mikel tried but he is not one. But how many years does Amodu need to find one. He promised to invite Rabiu after Egypt 2009. The young man is still waiting. Kanu played well in that position, you need to ask your chosen one how come he did not use him more. But are you not tired of suggesting ideas to a coach that does not listen. The man paid to do the job should know what to do, THAT IS COMPETENCY.

Towards the end you are even criticizing your World class coach. Tony wrote "Finally I just think some players taken to Angola 2010 are not matured yet for SE roles: Nwaneri, Yosuf Mohammed in defence and the likes of Etuhu in midfield should be dropped and replaced with new players or even old ones like Adeleye who are better and more confident players." Amodu picks his players either from the NFF OR BY SENTIMENTS NOT ON MERIT. He plays names not form. Sorry Tony we can't "Let Amodu be" so he can kill our football. Even you, are not happy with the marriage. We need a divorce. For those calling for coaching courses for him, he should leave and pursue that on his own. He has been paid enough for being lazy. After watching the way France qualified, Nigeria's victory in St. Entiene has lost its value.

Lets support Siasia to invite the local and foreign based players and build a team of the best Nigeria has to offer. God bless SE, God bless Siasia. As for Fashola, you can support Siasia too. We dont need any European rejects to show us the way. YES WE CAN.

@SLy1
well done.. Who ever is tony. should check him self well... How can a coach tell you that he has a favorite, from his town. That means that he can field any body that he likes,.The coach is not smart , and any body that supports him , is not telling as it is.... He can go to world cup as an assistant, that’s it. He should not be the one to make the final decision. We Nigerians deserve better.... We already have Siasia. They should make him the chief coach..

seyi: 2010-02-02 17:04

Haba CAF, eyeanma tried not even a substitute goal keeper, all you Amodu's enemies tell me the number of coaches in the world that qualified their countries twice for world cups, you need to be behind him and not against him, if you employ the best coach in the world right now our player are not committed right now, Amodu must stay.
