Sebastián Fernández's first club was Miramar Misiones, a team he joined in 2004 and made over 70 appearances for during his two seasons.
Defensor Sporting bought him in 2007, before Argentine club Banfield made a move for him in 2008.
The striker made his debut for Uruguay in 2006 but has struggled to find regular opportunities and is mainly used as a reserve player.
