18 Ignacio González
Ignacio 'Nacho' Gonzalez arrived at Newcastle in September 2008, on a season-long loan from Valencia, who had just signed him from Uruguayan side Danubio. Soon after his arrival, having played just two matches, the midfielder picked up a serious achilles injury which ruled him out for more than four months, a good portion of his loan spell.
Gonzalez made his debut for Uruguay in 2006 against England and quickly established himself as a regular in the side.
