19 Maurice Edu
Edu began his career playing with the Maryland Terrapins and in 2007 entered the Major League Soccer draft where he was picked up by Toronto FC. The midfielder had a superb start for the club as he scored on debut against the Kansas City Wizards and in his first season with the club was named 2007 MLS Rookie of the Year.
In August 2008 Edu joined Scottish giants Rangers upon signing a five-year contract. Initially he struggled to play regularly in the first team, but after club captain Barry Ferguson fell out of favour with manager Walter Smith, Edu slotted into the midfield as is now seen as the natural successor to the midfielder.
