7 DaMarcus Beasley
Beasley is a graduate of the famous IMG Soccer Academy and showed early signs of his talent while playing in the youth ranks of Los Angeles Galaxy. He signed his first professional contract with Galaxy in March 1999, but before he was offered the opportunity to make his debut, the midfielder was traded to Chicago Fire where he later became a crowd favourite. Beasley spent four seasons in Chicago with his crowning year coming in 2003 as he was named in the MLS Best XI.
His performances attracted big attention from Europe and in 2004 he signed for Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven to play under the management of Guus Hiddink. He made over 50 appearances for PSV including playing in a Champions League semi-final, but following some off-field incidents he was loaned out to Manchester City. He made 18 appearances for City and scored three goals in the 2006/07 season, but in June 2007 he elected to move further up North to Scotland and signed a permanent deal with Glasgow giants Rangers.
Beasley has been a regular in the American national team since making his debut against China in 2001. He has gone on to win over 80 caps and was part of the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cup squads.
