3 Carlos Bocanegra
Carlos Bocanegra is another Amercia player who has tasted success after a move to England.
He left Chicago Fire in 2004 for Fulham, before establishing himself as a regular member of the London-based club's defensive line.
During the 2006/07 season Bocanegra was Fulham's second topscorer, having netted five goals, only behind fellow American Brian McBride.
After eventually being released by Fulham in 2005, Bocanegra made a move to France, joining Stade Rennais where he appeared in the Europa League.
He is also a regular in the national side, and most expect him to be a regular starter during the American's trip to South Africa.
