He started his career with Real as a teenager and has rejected all offers to leave the club. He has played over 400 games and has a contract keeping him at the Bernabeu until 2017.

Internationally, Casillas has played for Spain since the age of 14, never missing an age-group on his way to the senior team. He made his senior debut in 2000 and is the second-most capped goalkeeper in Spanish history behind Andoni Zubizareta (126). He was in the Euro 2000, 2004 and 2008 teams, as well as the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.
