Duda began his career with Portugese side Vitoria Guimaraes, but jumped across the border to Spain at an early age, where he made his first senior appearance with Andalusian club Cadiz.

Impressive form in the third tier with Cadiz earned him a move to top-flight club Malaga, and after an inital loan spell at Levante, he estasblished himself as a regular at La Rosaleda.

The flamboyant left winger played in the UEFA Cup for Malaga before a fallout with the club saw him sold to fellow La Liga club Sevilla in 2006.

However competition for places at Sevilla was tough, with Antonio Puerta, Adriano and Diego Capel all battling for the left wing berth, and he was loaned back to Malaga three years later.

He eventually signed a permanent return at his former club, where he is once again a regular in the side.

Duda made his international debut with Portugal in 2007, after making good progress with the U21 side.

During qualification for the FIFA 2010 World Cup, Duda was often used as an emergancy left back by coach Carlos Queiroz.
