Israel Castro began his football career at Club Universidad
Nacional, a Mexican side commonly known as Pumas, in 2002. He worked his way through the youth system there and is currently playing as a defender there. Fans call him the Assassin of Galactics as he was the only scorer in their victory over Real Madrid for the Santiago Bernabeu trophy in 2004.
He has played for the Mexico national team since 2007.
