Blanco is an influential attacking midfielder in the Mexico team and has vast experience and goal-scoring prowess. He started his career at Club America where he played over 300 matches, scoring 125 goals.

He made his first appearance for Mexico in 1995 and has collected over 100 caps. Temo, as he is also known, shares a record with Ronaldinho as the top Confederations Cup goalscorer.
