Ri Myong-Guk plays his professional football with Pyongyang City after signing with the DPR Korea League outfit in 2006.
He made his international debut for North Korea in 2007, and played 15 matches of his country’s 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign, with his performances earning him the 2009 Asian Footballer of the Year award.
