23 Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi
Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi’s footballing career started with the Shimizu Commercial High School in 1991, and in 1994 he signed a professional contract with Yokohama F Marinos.
He made just shy of 200 apperances for the club before moving on to England with Portsmouth, but after just 12 apperances in two seasons he joined FC Nordsjaelland and finally Jubilo Iwata in 2005.
In 1995, having been named the J-League Rookie of the Year, the goalkeeper was called up to the Japan Under-23 squad, and two years later he made his first-team debut. Since then he has gone on to help his country at three consecutive World Cups (1998, 2002 and 2006).
