Junichi Inamoto has played for several clubs during his career, starting with Gamba Osaka in 1997, before playing for Premier League teams Arsenal and Fulham, as well as Galatasaray, Eintacht Frankfurt and Rennes before signing with Kawasaki Frontale in 2010.

Inamoto started playing international football in 1995 with the Japan Under-27 team, as well as the Under-20 and Under-23 team from 1998 to 2000 before finally making his debut for the senior team at the 2000 Asian Cup. He was also part of the 2001 Confederations Cup runners-up team, and also played at the 2003 and 2005 Confed Cup and 2006 FIFA World Cup.
