Daniele De Rossi played his youth career at Ostiamare from 1997 until 2000, when he moved to Roma. He began his senior career there in 2001 and has made some outstanding contributions with his performances, as the club finished runners-up in Serie A four times in the space of five seasons.
De Rossi has also claimed numerous individual accolades since breaking into the Roma first team, such as the Serie A Young Footballer of the Year in 2006 and the Italian Footballer of the Year in 2009.
He has played for Italy at U19, U20 and U21 levels. In 2004 he was called up to the national squad and played in the 2006 World Cup, Euro 2008 and the 2009 Confederations Cup. He is tipped by many to become Italy’s next captain after Fabio Cannavaro.
