19 Gianluca Zambrotta
Gianluca Zambrotta started his career with Como in 1994 until 1997. He then joined Bari before moving to Juventus in 1999, where he made 217 appearances. In 2006 he moved to Barcelona and signed with Milan two years later.
Zambrotta is a player who adds great flexibility to the Italian squad as he is able to play on either flank as well as in defence.
He played for them at the Under-21 level before being called up to the senior squad in February 1999. On 9 July 2006 Zambrotta won the World Cup with Italy.
If Zambrotta stays free of injury, he could well follow in the footsteps of Fabio Cannavaro, Paolo Maldini, Dino Zoff and Gianluigi Buffon by reaching a century of appearances for the Azzurri.
