Fabio Quagliarella played his youth career at Torino and started as a professional footballer there in 1999. In 2005 he moved to Ascoli, then spent time with Sampdoria and Udinese before signing with Napoli in 2009.

Prior to joining the Naples club, Quagliarella was widely linked with a number of English teams, including Manchester United.

Quagliarella has performed for his country on U17, U19, U20 and U21 levels. He made his debut for the national side in March 2007. In his first full start for them on 6 June 2007, he scored both goals in their 2-0 win over Lithuania. He was included in their Euro 2008 squad.
