Ghana were the second African side after hosts South Africa to qualify for the 2010 World Cup after a commanding performance in their group.
It is a second-successive finals appearance for the Black Stars, who debuted on this stage at the 2006 event and exceeded all expectations by making the second round, before eventually losing out to Brazil.
They are not talked about in the same breath as Cote d'Ivoire as African challengers in 2010, but they do have the ability to surprise once again.
