Franck Ribery started his professional football career at Boulogne in 2000, after progressing through the youth ranks there.

He then enjoyed spells at Ales, Stade Brestois, Metz, Galatasaray and Marseille before a big-money move to German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in 2007.

He appeared for the France Under21 side from 2004-2006 before being called up to the national side in 2006 for a World Cup warm-up game against Mexico.

Ribery has been tipped to become French football’s next big thing following the retirement of Zinedine Zidane, and has been tipped to follow ‘Zizou’ to Real Madrid. However, several off-field incident have threatened to derail his career.
