1 David James
David James has played for numerous clubs during his professional footballing career, including Watford, Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham and Manchester City, but he is currently the number-one choice goalkeeper for Portsmouth.
James made just one appearance for the England Under-21 team while playing for Watford, but made his full international debut under Glenn Hoddle in March 1997 in the 2-0 friendly victory over Mexico. He has since made just under 50 appearances for his country, and is sure to be one of Fabio Capello’s choices for goalkeeper at the 2010 World Cup.
