Nicklas Bendtner joined Arsenal in 2005, but after failing to make his mark on the first-team was loaned out to Championship side Birmingham City.
The Dane returned to the Emirates Stadium a much stronger player and entered his fourth season with the Gunners in July 2008 since joining from FC Copenhagen. He was rewarded with his first cap for Denmark in 2006 at the age of just 18 and enjoyed a memorable debut, scoring against Poland in a friendly.
He has twice scored against Portugal, the most recent coming in a 2010 World Cup qualifier, when the Danes ran out 3-2 winners.
