4 Daniel Agger
Agger began playing for the youth team of Danish Superliga club Brondby IF when he was 12, progressing to the first team where he helped his side win the Danish Superliga in the 2004/05 season. After the Superliga season he was called up to play for his national side. He was named Danish 'Talent of the Year' for football in 2005 and for all sports in 2006.
His first season at Liverpool was hampered by injury in the latter half of the 05/06 season. He scored his first goal for Liverpool on 26 August 2006 against West Ham United, and the goal went on to be voted 'Goal of the Month' by BBC's Match of the Day. He is an integral member of the Denmark national team. Agger missed most of the 2007-2008 season with a recurring metatarsal injury.
He returned for Liverpool's 1-0 pre-season victory of Tranmere Rovers, before falling out of favour for a few months in late 2008. He then returned to the side to replace the injured Martin Skrtel and put in some good performances.
