Karim Ziani's career kicked off at Troyes where he joined in 2000 and spent five seasons, before brief spells at Lorient, Sochaux and Marseilles. He joined current club Wolfsburg in 2009.
The midfielder made his debut for Algeria in 2003 and went on to play in the 2004 African Nations Cup. He also played a crucial role in his country's success during the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
