Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune will be ready against Jomo Cosmos

Khune will be ready against Cosmos

Posted: 2012-02-10 08:30

Itumeleng Khune will be ready for Kaizer Chiefs' first match of the year against Jomo Cosmos at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

Vladimir Vermezovic reveals to Amakhosi's official website that the goalkeeper has been doing well in Chiefs' mid-season break friendlies.

"[Khune] has already shown during a couple of practise matches that he will be ready when we play against Jomo Cosmos," 'VV' says. "He has been working very hard in training and I am satisfied with his progress."

Are you looking forward to seeing 'Itu' in action again? Have your say on Facebook HERE!

Vermezovic also assures Chiefs fans that the club is focused and well prepared for the second half of the season.

"The first three games will be very important for us," the coach tells Chiefs website. "A good start is as important as finishing well. This also makes the last five games of the season very important, but we will take it one game at a time."

The Serbian says Chiefs will not be underestimating any opponent this year.

"Our focus now is on Jomo Cosmos in Port Elizabeth," he says. "They are not an easy side to play against and people should not even mention that they are on bottom of the League – that will count nothing when we meet come next Wednesday."

After Bobby's statement, most wise chiefs fans crossed to Pirates, Sundowns and SSU.

Not so long ago VV was suppose to go
Not so long ago players where average at Chiefs
Not so ong ago VV said he needs new players but all of a sudden he does n't.
Not so long ago Bobby was suppose to be fired and he reminded the poor fans who he is and i quote " i was not appointed by the IF or ANC, i did n't apply with a CV, this is a family business"

So if this is a family business, Nina why nizifaka, Chiefs fans are treated like sh*t,r*bbish but they stil support ignorantly.

This Nazoorena won't survuve the second leg of the league,
-The two hlokoloza muskateers are back, one from fake injury and the other from his Palace auditions
-Yeye does not look good, as Pitso describes his injury
-The man who thinks with his ***** is still there
-The chairman promulgated(king's word) the team's lack of finance
-They retained their average cows instead of beafing their squad.

Kganthe we were underestimating the teams wena VV- no wonder we lost to Baroka and lost the league to ameteurs in the end, not to mention losing to the same ameteurs in the MTN 8 that we were supposed to win by a large margin, not to mention we lost to the dead wood called Royal Bafokenf Funeral Parlor- so VV, you are the reason moved from being hotdogs to every team's burger or underdog... sies VV.

SECOND EDITION

Let me start by saying thanks once again to Kickoff for the soccer news and updates we getting served with everyday on this site.

After some consideration and comparison between our forums and other forums e.g ****nal supporters forum it saddens me to see the huge difference in a sense that we South Africans tend to take advantage of the platform given to us to ABUSE and MISUSE the facilities by insulting our own coaches, players, opposition supporters and our team’s management. If you put yourself in the shoes of the likes of e.g Shabalala who is been called “Nyawana”, Ndulula who is been called “used condom”, and all the other guys who are been called names, how would you feel mara he???

A forum is made for us supporters to work hand in hand with the technical team for the betterment of our beloved teams. There is nothing wrong in criticizing and giving nicknames but let us do it professionally and constructively. I do not think that most players, coaches or any team management take us supporters seriously anymore because of our own doing on our respective forums, that is why most bloggers use fake/multiple usernames to logon sites.

Excuse my English, it is not my mother tongue after all.

KING?: 2012-02-10 11:35

This Mzansi number one was exposed in the 2010WC and he was just pathetic in the Confederations cup.

In the history of the WC, Khune is 2nd keeper to earn himself a red cup.

I remember when ACE Manyisa moered Sakaland of Sundowns and Chiefs fans said, he can never do that to Khune, we all saw what happeed to the so called Mzansi number 1.

Manyisa reminded people that Khune is average.

KING?: 2012-02-10 11:37

On what basis is Khune Mzansi number one?

Dooba OPC: 2012-02-10 11:41

As far as I am concerned, and as 48 million SA citizens out there can attest, the man who costed the nation this year's AFCON is Sekolela in Egypt- the man had two clear chances with only Al Hadary to beat, and what did the cow do? I will leave it there... so Khune was doing damage control for what Pitso had done- I mean what coach in his right mind can call Sekolela to the national team?

S\'javo: 2012-02-10 11:47

whoever is calling khune all sorts of nasty names f.u.c.k the hell out of u,especially rats fans i hate all of them

joe banana : 2012-02-10 11:54

khune is actually the only keeper in WC history to get himself a 'red cup'!

tl tl tl tl, king i told u long ago to leave this blog and stop embarrasing yourself with your stupid and skewed english, but no, you just have to keep on proving your stupidity! Red Cup? Lmao!!!

KING?: 2012-02-10 12:02

On what basis is Mzansi number one?

Darren Kit did n't even struggle for a move abroad and he is far better than Khune. Slim kat has proved himself to be the best in the country, its a pity he is not black.

Khune was never ready to be Mzansi no 1 and he is stil not ready, but one wonders how much was Pitso paid by Jazzman to market the average one. Joe Banana: did u really laugh at a typo error.

Khune is really the 2nd keeper in AFRICA to earn a red card in such a big event.

Sweyts : 2012-02-10 12:30

Heita Brazilitto's! Ekse, lentwana needs about two more seasons at the zoo, then we can change his life ke.
He's still a bit rough around the edges but definately is the best we have currently, despite the Manyisa muti which has since diminished.

KING?: 2012-02-10 12:32

Its funny that Chiefs fans are so praising him yet non of themcan explain to you on what basis is he Mzansi number one.

At Confederation: He was dismal, who will forget what happened after he stoped Villa's penalty.
At the 2010WC Forlan was very far to have scored that goal which killed the moral of the team. His WC perfomance was so bad and he even earned himself a red card.
At the AFCON group stages he was a joke.

Question is, For how long must he fail until we get rid of him. This is the reason South Africans fail, we are biased hence we are stuck with a coach who failed yet believe he is the best in the country.

Khune's performance at national and club level has not been good. This boy cannot organise the defence, hence Mbazo always took the blame. People are fooled by his distribution abilities yet in all fairness, he is an average keeper.

Win or Loose: 2012-02-10 12:32

@Marapo

25 & 23...hope you're satisfied.........

Mamoduwe : 2012-02-10 12:36

@brazilitto, dawane lam', DOWNS doesn't need this hlokoloza-injured hobo, for me the homeless drama-queen is overated, he is always praised for his ball distribution but the very same distributions doesnt help the Mugabe franchise and the Bafana Jokes to OUTSCORE their opponents, the homeless wife beater Baartman has raised his hand in the absence of this homeless drama queen, so I don't believe he will add any value to the YELLOW VILLAGE.

domkat didn't want to play the past friendly games cause he was afraid he will embarass himself

you forget about kudukudu who missed a clear chance playing against egepeta but u r busy talking s*** about khune.

he's still going to get a place at BB with your useless coach

KING?: 2012-02-10 12:53

Win or Loose: should we talk about facing keeper Shaba missed in that last game.

Should we also talk about Mphela missing clear cut chances in Cairo.

Khune is overrated and Chiefs fans think anything average player associated with their team is the best, Molekwane is the best right back in the country yet he is not even playing. Mashamayite is the special player yet he is not playing.

Chiefs fans stop overrating your players because Shabba was valued at 2.5million by the same team which valued Segolela at R8MILLION.

brazilitto : 2012-02-10 12:55
