Kamohelo Mokotjo played a starring role for Dutch side Feyenoord on Sunday as they defeated Ajax Amsterdam 4-2 in the Eredivsie.
After months of frustration, Mokotjo is finally being given a run in the Feyenoord side by coach Ronald Koeman with Moroccan Karim El Ahmadi at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
And he appears to be taking his chance, winning praise from Koeman and sporting director Martin van Geel for his performances.
Tsepo Masilela and his Spanish La Liga side Getafe are creating something special after another away win on Sunday.
They defeated high-flyers Levante 2-1, with Masilela playing the full 90 minutes and have now moved up to eighth in the table, only four points off what would be a most unlikely UEFA Champions League spot.
Getafe are unbeaten in their last six La Liga matches and Masilela has played the last five of those after recovering from injury.
Bradley Grobler was forced off after 48 minutes of his Turkish side Goztepe’s 1-0 defeat at Karsiyaka, a result which leaves them perilously near the relegation zone.
On Saturday, Calvin Kadi’s excellent goal-scoring form in Greece continued when he netted again for second division leaders Veria as they won 2-1 at Agrotikos Asteras.
Kadoi has now scored six goals in 10 starts for the club this season following his move from BidVest Wits at the beginning of the campaign.
Dino Ndlovu has also been in fine form for Israeli side Bnei Yehuda of late and netted again at the weekend as they drew 2-2 Bnei Sakhin. It was his third goal of the season, and second in his last five games.
Anele Ngcongca played the full game as his champions side Genk finally found some form this season with 5-0 thrashing of OH Leuven.
Ayanda Patosi was back on the bench for Lokeren, but played the final few minutes as they defeated Mechelen 3-2, while goalkeeper Darren Keet also returned to the bench for Kortrijk’s 0-0 draw at home to Zulte-Waregem.
All three South Africans featured for Lierse in their 2-0 win at Westerlo, Daylon Claasen and Siboniso Gaxa from the start and Lance Davids as a first-half substitute. Claasen set up the second goal for Wesley Sonck.
Neither Aaron Mokoena (hamstring injury) or Bongani Khumalo featured for their English Championship sides Portsmouth and Reading respectively as both completed wins on Saturday.
Steven Pienaar came on for the final 10 minutes of Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 FA Cup win over Watford on Friday night in what could be his final appearance for the club with QPR set to make a renewed bid for his services before the close of the transfer window tomorrow night.
Cheyne Fowler made his debut for new Finnish side VPS, but they lost 1-0 to Jaro in that country’s pre-season League Cup.
