Kulula hit back at Fifa with second advert

Fifa 1, Kulula 2

Posted: 2010-03-21 13:59

In response to having their ‘Unofficial carrier of the “you-know-what”’ advert blocked by Fifa, Kulula.com have come back with something even funnier.

In today’s Sunday Times, Kulula have flighted a full page advert that reads: ‘Not next year, not last year, but somewhere in between.’

Wonder when that would be then …

Kulula’s previous advert was blocked for a number of reasons, two of which was their use of the South African flag and the vuvuzela.

This ad is illustrated with golf tees, which look very similar to a certain plastic trumpet but are labelled ‘Definitely, definitely a golf tee.’

The page is bordered by two hanging pieces of cloth, which are labelled: ‘Colourful beach towel? Flag?’

Towards the bottom are a pair of what appear to be soccer boots, but have no studs, next to which is written, ‘Nooit, they’re running shoes.’

Dominating the middle of the page is a structure that, at first glance, looks like a football stadium. But Kulula were told that they cannot use the Cape Town Stadium in their last advert. This is, in fact, ‘Storms River suspension bridge.’

KickOff.com eagerly await the backlash.

Hahahhahahahahaha, you kulula thats the spirit , the whole idea of hosting the world cup is to uplift the country's economy if the local companies can not take advantage of that then whats the use.
we are not living in China or lybia this is RSA. everebody has to benefit including CEOs and individuals at the end of this.

the primary beneficiaries in any fifa world cup is, you guessed it right fifa itself.they will stop at nothing to retain the status quo, even if the tournament is hosted by the developing country.let us not for once forget that capitalist reality.

Kulula.com should put their money where their mouth is.

They, together with the likes of SAA are rippping us, the flying public, off with their ridiculously priced airtickets to the extent that one has to purchase tickets for soccer matches within reasonable travelling range of his or her residence.

That they do not sponsor any football related activity is all the more reason for FIFA to come hard on them.

I just wonder how many flight tickets they think they are going to score with this advert?

Perhaps it'll earn them kudus from the largely white minority that opposes everything that is football / soccer in this country. That, however, remains to be seen.
