Fluminese FC’s reserve side were whipped 8-0 by Bafana Bafana in Teresopolis on Sunday.

The South Africans led 2-0 at half time and added six more goals in the second half.

According Ruy Reisinger, director of football at the Brazilian giants, said that they had used a number of players who did not get regular game times as well as some of their young and lesser experienced players.

“The game was beneficial to us as we were able to assess our reserve squad. We made four substitutions in the second half but to no avail.

“Facing a different school of soccer proved very challenging,” Reisinger added.

I cant believe this team used the Bafana game as their squad assessment.Carlos must organize games against unselfish teams to play for these practice games

OBG: 2010-03-15 08:09

Even Swaziland would have won that game. Useless.

Sweyts: 2010-03-15 08:14

Bafana are so weak, the fans cannot beleive they can win by such a margin. It's been said time and again that 'If it's too good to be true it usually is'nt!'

Parreira pulled some strings to make this possible, this match was fixed! Lol!

harry: 2010-03-15 08:23

Mr Editor gives us more info please next time,TTM 1.theres was article that was over the weekend about the Bafana camp in SA where they have opt for Wits training ground what is amazing me is that there was a school that was supposed to be used as training ground but now all of a suddenly that school is taking SAFA to court which to me it doesnt not make sense & according to their statement then they were never consulted about the use of their field,so to me it doesnt make sense as they didnt wanted Bafana to used their field,2 that Wits sport field does looking good to me,then we had about six years to prepared for the world cup but we dont even had a training groung so SAFA in one way or the other they are useless.

cza : 2010-03-15 08:28

Well done, Bafana Bafana . You did us proud and i'm happy about to know that you're not on vacation in South America.

I think we need to support our country, whether we play weak, strong, reserve, amateur or whatever oponents we're facing let's rally behind our country.

If we would have lost or drew wuth team , he he he he he we wouldn't happy still but now we won 8-0 but we're not happy .

Cum'on homies....this is our country and if we don't support them who's gonna support our country? Nigerians? or England? Germany with bullet proof vest ? who's gonna support this country ?

This is NONSENSE! BB's camp in Brazil is a waste of resources if what i read here is anything to go by. A national team playing a reserve local team in a bit to prepare a national team for a world cup show? PATHETIC....!!!!

STONZA AND THE BOYS
We don't have a report yet, but possibility is that:
1. Tshabalala missed 2 dubious penalties
2. Letsholonyane broke a player's leg then threatened him with his face
3. Khune was beaten 5 times and was saved by the post
4. Booth, Xulu and Mphela scored all the goals.

Pearl: 2010-03-15 09:00

True khosi, we do support, its just that...

True there about being patriotic, 'just that we should not be ululating a victory against a 2nd div. Brazillian version of Pirates! lovl!... no no my bad Barks won, we should'nt be celebrating beating 'Wonderers' but ackowledge the effort...8-0 is just too far fetched dont you think?

Kali: 2010-03-15 09:03

Beating the third string club is a huge achievement for a national team of Bafana's stature. Let's propose a holiday to celebrate that.

Hangwanie: 2010-03-15 09:06

This is not good, the team that played against Bafana Bafana used their reserved players, players who were not playing at all, so we dont need to be happy about this. Nothing to be proud of

Why do you have to go for the easiest target? UYACOTHELA! lol!

Infact it's the dissapointing Franklin Cale who scared his teammates with his calf muscles to take a penalty in the first game, and skyrocketed it above the Cape flats!

Stop the bias Kali, this is about national pride...We have to learn to love uYeye nobusobakhe even though kuzoba nzima! Laags laags en laags!

BREAKING NEWS:
Kali arrested for raping lotsolonyane's posta!!!

The police raided Kali shack in khayelitsha after a tip-off from an anornimous individual & found a letsolonyane's A3 size posta with a hole on the butt area of letsolonyane. The police found sum whitish liquid around that area of the posta & did sum ****ysis of it. It was found that that whitish liquid is after all s.e.m.e.n of Kali but there was another person's s.e.m.e.n also who the owner is not yet disclosed even though many calls for Arly-G to be investigated.

In court letsolonyane was asked Y is he laying a charge of rape against Kali & Arly-G & he responded by saying that when they raped the posta with his picture on it it also resembled raping him personally. He also gave evidence that he had a stalker on the phone but he would hear two voices of men breathing very heavely on him.

Stonza: 2010-03-15 16:10

In the game against the Fluminense reserve side, Bafana Bafana dominated from the offset, with Siphiwe Tshabalala and Kermit Erasmus netting a brace each, while Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Tlou Segolela, Richard Henyekane and Daylon Claasen also put their names on the scoring sheet with a goal each.
"from a source that is reliable to some or most!!!

Arly-G: 2010-03-15 16:12

I'm not suprised because those players didn't see Yeye as a human being. We could use Yeye to our advantage and that's the only way to win WC.

Qminati: 2010-03-16 11:46

Quite clearly, some so called football fans on this forum could do with a bit of education about the game and its history, especially leading to big tournaments like the World Cup.

A training camp is exactly that...A TRAINING CAMP. The teams and combinations that the coaching staff choose to field against their training opposition is aimed at achieveing many things, amongst which is a uniform pattern of play or exposure to certain elements of the game which the team could do well to be competent in.

I do not understand this noise about the quality or calibre of our opposition in these training matches. How else is the team going to learn and implement what they are training if they're going to be put up against a stiff wall which won't allow to practice what they have been training all this time?

People need to be realistic and appreciate that international football comes with structure and a certain level of discipline and skill. No one player will run around like a headless chicken as we're prone to see in our local game. Bafana are in their first of three (3) training camps, whose ultimate goal is to prepare them for the World Cup. They will play many such games against trivial opposition in order to achieve their objectives.

I for one played several matches against Liberia and Tunisia for my club when they were here (durban) for the African Nation's Cup in 1996. They asked us to play against them in order to better understand the south african footballers mentality and playing style(s). There was nothing more at stake other than them taking away what they needed in order to improve their preparations for the real thing.

I suppose that the level of intellect often displayed in this forum is indicative of the general south african supporter.
