Mexico's young guns blazing

Mexico's young guns are firing on all cylinders and lived up to the hype surrounding Bafana Bafana's opening World Cup opponents as they turned in a good performance against New Zealand during the week.
While El Tri's coach Javier Aguiree was focusing on the young the European-based players who only had this game to impress, there was one who continues to go above and beyond the rest despite not seeing any playing time in Europe.
Javier Hernandez doesn't play his football Europe but he doesn't have to, to earn a spot on Mexico's roster. The Chivas striker has been posting phenomenal numbers, including a goal against the All Whites, but even with such great form, Aguirre isn't guaranteeing anything.
"I expect him to keep that level of play. He first needs to be selected and if he is I expect him to carry over the performance from these friendlies into the World Cup stage. I don't want to get ahead of myself so right now he has the same chances as everyone else," declared Aguirre.
Aguirre said it's too early to make any final decisions. He said he still doesn't know what the final make up of the squad will be but he has one thing certain. There will be criticism from the media.
"The World Cup is in June, we're in March. He is working (‘Chicharito' – the Little Pea) just like everyone else. We have to go through a selective process and pick out the best. The media won't like it but we already know that."
