Stanton Fredericks put his money on Ivory Coast to win Afcon

Stiga's moment of truth

Posted: 2012-02-10 13:24

At the beginning of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, Stanton Fredericks put his money on Ivory Coast to win the tournament while his heart was with Zambia.

Fredericks' tweet on January 21: "Afcon starts today.. My money is on Ivory coast but my heart is with Zambia!!!"

Now the battle lines are drawn, with the ‘Elephants' set to battle ‘Chipolopolo' at the Stade d'Angondjé, in Libreville - Gabon, on Sunday for the trophy and the time has come too for ‘Stiga' to pick the eventual winners.

"If I put my money on it I would have been a rich man," Fredericks quips.

"On a serious note, I will have to say Ivory Coast and they would win by two to three goals," Fredericks predicts.

Mighty Zambia, Chipolopolo all the way.

SisterP: 2012-02-10 14:12

looking at both semi finals and the tournament as a whole i would say Ivory coast will win, but they are the serial final losers. My money is on Zambia on penalties.

I am with the copper bullets all the way. If I was coaching this one, I would tell my lads to absorb the pressure in the first 15minutes and counterattack like lightning. The quicker the attacks the more the Ivorians get confused.

After you win it gents, go to the crash site and bring back the fallen heroes to be part of the celebration in Lusaka.

Chipolopolo all the way!
