Pattison arrives at Santos

New Santos signing Matthew Pattison, who joined from Mamelodi Sundowns, arrived in Cape Town yesterday to begin his new career after joining the club on a five-month contract.
Pattison was a regular at Sundowns in his first two seasons, but failed to win a regular place under new coach Johan Neeskens.
The 25-year-old spent the last two months on trial with English Championship side Leeds United, but failed to secure a contract.
"It's only my second day here in Cape Town, but I'm really excited and looking forward to playing and helping the team survive relegation," Pattison says.
"I had a great time at Sundowns in my first two seasons, but this season the coach had other plans and I didn't fit in. Sundowns didn't want to release me to their direct competitors, which is fair enough.
"But even if Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates showed interest I would have still joined Santos because Cape Town as a city was a big seller for me. Santos have been talking to me for a while as well and I'm really looking forward to playing again."
Joining Santos on a five-month contract means Pattison can still negotiate with another club of his choice, but the player tells KickOff.com that he wants to focus on the People's Team.
"T be honest with you I thought I was going to sign for Leeds in England because I thought I did really well there and I even scored in one of the matches. But right now I need to focus on playing for Santos for the next five months and will only think about my future at the end of the season," he says.
