Fifa All-Star team named

The Fifa World Cup 2010 All-Star team has been announced. Online voting from Fifa.com club members decided their ideal starting XI in a 4-4-2 formation, as well as their favourite coach.

The team consists of six players from champions Spain, as well as coach Vicente del Bosque. Rounding off the starting XI are two representatives of Germany, and one from Brazil, Uruguay and the Netherlands.

The team is:
Goalkeeper: Iker Casillas
Defenders: Maicon - Sergio Ramos - Carles Puyol - Philipp Lahm
Midfielders: Wesley Sneijder - Xavi - Bastian Schweinsteiger - Andres Iniesta
Strikers: Diego Forlan - David Villa

The fans' choice included three right fullbacks (Maicon, Sergio Ramos, Philipp Lahm), as well as two central attacking midfielders (Wesley Sneijder, Xavi). Golden Boot winner Thomas Mueller failed to make the starting line-up.

Meanwhile, Serbia’s Football Association has appealed against Fifa’s decision to suspend and fine national team coach Radomir Antic. The Serbian FA says the appeal against a four-match ban and a R100 000 fine was sent to Fifa yesterday.

The world football governing body imposed the penalties this month over Antic’s alleged “inappropriate behaviour” after a World Cup match against Australia on June 23, which Serbia lost 2-1.

Antic criticized the referee after the defeat, which eliminated Serbia from the tournament at the group stage.

guys i am highly dissapointed in you especially soccer critic and king guys the selection has nothing to do with fifa go back and read the article u will c that the team was selected by fans and u had the opportunity to forward ur own choices but decided not to leave the team and fifa alone

I don't have a problem with the selection, which includes no African; I just wonder if it is selected with any objective (of playing) any day as it is imbalanced?
If compromise would be done to switch one right fullback to left, it would be extreme to make a third one pick a striker. Otherwise, it's one man's selection.
My 1st XI selection (would) include six from above, which is not too astray!
Well done DIAGO FORLAN - You single-handedly carried Uruguay to the Semi's. What a fighting spirit this nation showed!

This line up is just absolute rubbish.I wonder foolish person that made this line up.How can Maicon,Sergio Ramos and Phillip Lahm be included in this list at the same time.Three of them are right full backs for God sake and it's just only one out of them that is supposed to be chosen.Casillas is not supposed to be the best goalkeeper,it's not because he won the world cup.Vincent Enyeama is the right person and the worlds' best goalkeeper at the moment.
Here is the right Fifa All Star Team.

...................Vincent Enyeama...................................

Sergio Ramos.....Carles Puyol........Gerard Pique........Capdevilla...

..........................Bastian Schweinsteiger......................

..........Andres Iniesta......................Wesley Sneijder.........

Arjen Robben.............Diego Forlan................David Villa......

Anybody who will contest against this selection don't know football and for your information, there are people who are better than those people who work with Fifa.Working with Fifa doesn't mean that they know football.

The word.: 2010-07-17 07:44

@ Soccer_Pro, it is you that did not know football. How can you compare Enyeama with Casillars? how can you leave XAVI out of the team? As far as im concern Xavi is my best player at this WC. tell me any players that can hold the ball with totall confidence in the midfield like him? How can you compare Pique to Lucio? why not include Yobo or ****tu in the defence, so that we will know you are a Nigerian?

mano : 2010-07-17 12:45
